Barnes & Noble Book Signing Event: Alyson Noel

Attended a YA book signing at Barnes and Noble for Alyson Noel on the evening of June 14, 2011.

ALYSON NOEL
Author of The Immortal Series

I was sooo excited to I attended Alyson Noel's book signing event at Barnes & Noble on the evening of June 14, 2011. This also happened to be the first event I had gone to after giving birth to my first born daughter. She is the author of The Immortal Series which consists of six books: "Evermore," "Blue Moon," "Shadowland," "Dark Flame," "Night Star," and "Everlasting."

"Evermore" is the first book in the series and it was recommended by one of my reading buddies. One day she had brought a book for me to read and stated "it is not a vampire book." Pique by her words I checked it out. This series is about Ever, a 16 year old who can see auras, can hear people’s thoughts, and know a person’s life story by touch and due to her special abilities she encounters a side of the afterlife she never would have expected.

Needless to say I got hooked and carried on reading the rest of the series that were already out. I have enjoyed every book I have read thus far and have listed Noel as one of my favorite authors. Currently I am reading book number 4: "Dark Flame."

Sam’s Club Book Signing Event: Lisa McMann

Attended another YA book signing event at Sam's Club for Lisa McMann on February 13, 2010.

 LISA MCMANN
Author of The Wake Trilogy

Lisa McMann is the writer of The Wake Trilogy: "Wake," "Fade," and "Gone." A series about Janine, a 17 year old who gets tired of getting sucked into people's dreams.

This series is a different kind of read that got me curious about dreams and how it played outside of Janine's dreams. There were a lot of twisted & OMG moments that would make any reader think and wonder what will happen next.

I recommend this trilogy to anyone who seeking to read outside of the immortal realm.

Sam's Club Book Signing Event: Becca Fitzpatrick

Attended a book signing event at Sam's Club for YA author Becca Fitzpatrick on February 13, 2010.

BECCA FITZPATRICK
Author of The Hush Hush Saga Series

Becca Fitzpatrick is the writer of The Hush Hush Saga Series. A series involving a story of a fallen angel, Patch who falls for Nora, a mortal.

"Hush Hush" is the first book in the series and a recommendation by my Twilight reading buddy. When I first read the Prologue I thought that I would lose interest in the story because it indicated a time in past history that I was not really interested in. However, this story totally gave me a new outlook in books; to never just stop at the prologue and give the story a chance.

Why not check out the story about a bad boy fallen angel living in mysterious ways. So glad I took a chance on something new and different because it was a story that I was not expecting. I literally could not put the book down. Believe me when I say that I was at the edge of my seat towards the end of the first book. Oh wow what an ending! I look forward to reading the rest of the books.

To recommend or not recommend? No doubt I highly recommend The Hush Hush Saga series!

New Moon Red Carpet Premiere

November 20, 2009

Had a blast at my first ever Red Carpet Premiere event and it was for The Twilight Saga: New Moon! The experience was well worth spending the night on the streets of Westwood Village with other Twilight fans and preparing for the next day fun! I met some amazing people and even Alisha (who I first met earlier in the mont at the New Moon Cast Tour & Concert by Hot Topic) had joined me.

P.S. My favorite pictures are of Rob & Taylor smiling who was just a few feet from me! The energy from the night was euphoric!

Our Outing to the ABC Studios to Meet Brandon Buddy

December 05, 2007

One of my favorite trips to New York was with my sisterly friends, Janette and Wyndel and each of use had a list we must and had to do. My number one thing I wanted to do was visit the ABC Studios and meet Brandon Buddy who plays Cole Thornhart on One Life to Live. Luckily for me my friend told me the day and time to drop by the studios.

Highlights from that day (written in 3rd person):

*The address to the studious 56 West 66th Street. When planning for the day Leba (which is my nickname) thought the studio address # were the cross streets and we all ended up getting off the subway early.

*When walking to the studio Leba first though it was 6th street but then pulled out her itinerary and realize that it was 66th street. Oops! Leba was not thinking straight. Hmmmmm I wonder why?

*When finally heading towards the right direct, Leba saw a phone # on the building and thought they were going the wrong way again. Leba thought the phone # was the # of the address.

*Wyndel's first walk through Central Park.

*Getting closer to the studios, Leba wanted to turn around. She was very nervous and could not believe she was doing this especially since she never when out of her way to meet her favorite celebrity before.

*Looking for a building that looks like a castle and has a flag hanging.

*While waiting it started to snow a little bit more. It was freaking AWESOME!
